Roman blinds look beautiful on their own or with curtains or pelmets.  They are particularly good for dormer windows or spaces where there is little or no space for curtains.  They use less fabric than curtains so are a good option to show off a particularly luxurious fabric.  Favourite curtains which are still in great condition but don't fit in your new home can be transformed into beautiful roman blinds.

Blinds are fitted on a high quality, metal headrail with a side winding chain.

All blinds are handsewn, with cotton lining and the layers of fabric joined by tiny 'stab stitches' so no stitching shows through onto the face of the blind.  They can be interlined for insulation, or made with blackout lining.  Borders or trimmings can be added.

I can also make roman blinds for triangular windows, with apex tops.  These are made up on wooden battens and pulled up using cords.

Medium weight fabric with no stretch is preferable for roman blinds - the fabric needs to hold its shape once it has been cut and made up.  Please do talk to me if you are in any doubt.

I can also advise you on how much fabric is required - typically this will be the size of the blind with an additional 10cm for the width and 20cm on the length but more may be needed if there is a pattern.
